Starting Over

I relapsed yesterday.

But I’m not going to give up. I’ll keep getting up as many times as I have to. This will not beat me.

Day 1

  1. Sharing this quote from Dr. Wayne Dyer –

“Failure does not exist. Failure is simply someone else’s opinion of how a certain act should have been completed. Once you believe that no act must be performed in any specific other-directed way, then failing becomes impossible.”

You do what you have to, for you. Take each day on its own. If you fall, you get back up. Your friends in your computer (and phone) are here for you 🙂 XOXOXO

  2. Do you know why you relapsed? If you can identify that then it is likely you will stay sober. I had many relapses before staying sober. Stay determined. Day one is the hardest.

      1. Ultimately yes but there is an underline reason. I ask because if you do not face it, you’ll drink again. I hope you can identify it.
By no means am I being hard on you because I am in your corner. I want you to be successful!

  3. I’m in your corner too – right here with a water bottle and a towel, ready to send you back into the ring! I know you must feel a bit low but try not to beat yourself up. If it was easy everyone would do it, right? You’re stronger than you think and I read your blog every day and feel inspired. Dust yourself off, we’re right by your side and you will win this war even if you lose the occasional battle. *insert powerful Game of Thrones soundtrack* Here’s a big hug and well done for this one day. Lots of love, Sophie xxxx

  4. Sunshine it happens. We are not infallible, it would be weird if we were. So what, things didn’t go as planned, they never do. Think of it as a plot twist and go from there. Everything happens for a reason and maybe, for whatever reason, you just needed it yesterday. Nobody know you better than you! And nobody gets to judge the choices that you make for you.

    As always ***hugs***

      1. There is no booze or beer in my home. I have not gone to AA. I’m embarrassed to go back now. I have so many 24 hour chips that it feels almost meaningless now. I don’t know what “smart” is.

  5. So glad you are ok 👍 I wanted to give you a hug yesterday, i know exactly how you were feeling, as I have been there way too many times and it’s horrible. Big hugs to you xxx

  6. Yeah, that annoying thing everyone tells people lately, about ‘fall down x numbers of times and get up one time more than that’–do what you need to do. You’re learning with everything you do, ‘mistake’ in your view or not. At least you have spent the vast majority of the last month or two sober, so that’s a complete plus–
